Lip filler - what is it?
Lip fillers are administered through injections
Lip filler treatments are injectable procedures. At Ebeling Beauty, Juvéderm or Restylane hyaluronic acid products are typically used, with Aliaxin filler available as an option in some cases.
- Fillers can be used to shape, plump or enlarge the lips according to the patient's wishes.
- The treatment can be used to correct lip shapes or correct asymmetry of features.
- The procedure takes 10-45 minutes.
- The procedure is performed using either a fine needle or a blunt cannula.
- The treatment can be performed with a topical numbing cream or even a dental block anesthesia, ensuring a completely painless experience.
In a filler treatment, a synthetic, non-animal hyaluronic acid gel is injected into the skin. High-quality fillers closely resemble the body's own hyaluronic acid. For lip enhancement, 0.5 to 1 ml of hyaluronic acid gel is typically used per session. A well-executed filler treatment delivers noticeable yet natural-looking results that align with the patient’s goals. If a significant change in lip shape or size is desired, the transformation is done gradually over approximately one year. This approach usually involves three, sometimes four, treatments. By building volume step by step, the risk of filler migration or encapsulation is minimized. Gradual reshaping ensures a beautifully natural result while preserving the integrity of the tissues.
The results of a lip filler treatment are visible immediately after the procedure. However, some side effects, such as redness, swelling, and occasional bruising, may occur. Swelling can be more pronounced in the first few days, especially with lip fillers. The final outcome can be reliably assessed after 2–4 weeks, once the swelling and any side effects have fully settled.
