- A major resizing or reshaping is achieved gradually, for example with a series of treatments over a period of 1-2 years, during which the filler treatment is repeated several times. For safety reasons, no more than one millilitre of Juvéderm, Restylane or Aliaxin filler can be injected at a single appointment.

Restylane and Juvéderm

Lip filler treatments - 0.55 ml or 1 ml?
For lip filler treatment, a maximum of one millilitre of hyaluronic acid gel is used in one visit. The procedure is considered successful if the result is visible but natural.

Aftercare
Lip filler treatment causes visible side effects. It is best to be prepared for these in advance. Everyone will experience some degree of swelling, and bruising is always a possibility. Because of the visible side effects, it's best to have the treatment done just before holidays, for example.
Probable after-effects:

- pain, itching, tingling
- firmness, small lumps, and nodules during the first few weeks after treatment
The swelling is visible at first, especially in the morning and especially in the upper lip. During the first few days, the shape of the lips changes daily. As the swelling does not decrease steadily, asymmetry of the lips is normal during the first weeks.
Not everyone gets bruises, but you should be prepared for them. You can prevent bruising to some extent, and you can speed up the healing of bruises to some extent.
- Even before lip contouring, you should take a break from all blood-thinning chemicals for a couple of weeks. These include alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil and omega products.
- Bruising and swelling of the lips should be treated with a cold pack wrapped in a piece of paper or cloth.
Aftercare instructions
After lip filler treatment, avoid
- tobacco, nicotine products and electronic tobacco (preferably one week)
- alcohol (two days)
- extreme temperatures (three days)
- unnecessary touching of the lips (two weeks)
- self-massage of the lips (four weeks)
- heavy physical activity (for at least two days)
- applying cosmetic products to the lips (for at least two days)
- organic cosmetics (preferably one week)
Lip filler treatments - FAQ
- Restylane and Juvéderm fillers contain a small amount of lidocaine. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic. After the first injection, it numbs the lips, making subsequent injections more comfortable and virtually painless.
- The anaesthetic reduces the pain further. If you want to use a numbing cream, let us know when you book your appointment so that we can also schedule time for lip numbing.
- In a mucosal anaesthetic, an anaesthetic is injected into the mucous membranes of the mouth just before the procedure. While the injection may cause a slight stinging sensation, it ensures that the treatment itself is almost painless.
- A dental anaesthesia removes all pain.
We do not do traditional Russian Lips fillers because they cause irreversible damage to the lips.
The results of Restylane and Juvéderm treatments last on average 6-12 months. There are many individual differences.
The results of the first treatment typically last only a few months. However, with repeated treatments, the effects tend to last longer over time.
- Do not press or rub your lips.
- Avoid saunas, sunbathing and all extreme temperatures. Also protect your lips from frost.
- Take a break from all strenuous physical activity for a couple of days.
- Do not drink alcohol in the first few days.
- Avoid smoking, snuff and nicotine products for at least 24 hours after lip fillers.
- If you need painkillers, use paracetamol.
- The most important thing is to follow all the instructions given to you by your doctor/nurse.
