Profhilo firms the skin
Profhilo is a deeply hydrating product that stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis to renew the texture and appearance of the skin. The effectiveness of the treatment is based on its high hyaluronic acid content. The treatment is usually carried out every two, sometimes three, months. The results of the treatment gradually become visible over the 2-3 weeks following the treatment. The result is maintained by repeating the treatment every 6-8 months.
During the treatment, five doses of hyaluronic acid are injected on both sides of the face. The injection sites are strategically chosen to ensure that the substance is evenly distributed throughout the mid and lower face.
The Profhilo treatment is ideal for people over 30 years of age whose face and neck show the first signs of ageing: fine lines, wrinkles, fine lines, thinning and dryness.
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid treatment
Profhilo is a skin regenerating biostimulant, particularly suitable for preventing ageing changes and correcting the first signs of ageing.
The treatment stimulates the skin's own regeneration by boosting the synthesis of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid:
- The collagen produced as a result of the treatment firms the skin.
- Elastin remodelling improves the skin's elasticity, or resilience.
- The increase in hyaluronic acid gives the skin a youthful plumpness and a smooth surface.

Profhilo is not a filler
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into the skin. However, it is not a stable filler: it does not increase the volume of subcutaneous tissue or alter facial features. Its texture resembles that of liquid honey. Thanks to its fluid consistency, it has excellent penetration throughout the middle and lower face and is able to stimulate the skin's own collagen and elastin synthesis. The result is skin that looks younger, more hydrated and brighter overall.
The treatment targets a large area of the skin. It does not aim to correct individual wrinkles, as for example with fillers.
Profhilo Structura - focus on subcutaneous adipose tissue
The traditional Profhilo treatment prevents and corrects age-related changes in the skin. The procedure involves injecting hyaluronic acid gel into the dermis of the skin. The Structura treatment is targeted deeper into the dermis, in the subcutaneous fat. The aim of the treatment is to support the fat pads, prevent their atrophy and bring out the natural youthfulness of the face.
Different types of age-related changes require different injection techniques
Profhilo Structura is made with a blunt cannula. Hollow, draining features have their own injection technique and heavy, hanging features have their own.
Like the classic Profhilo, Profhilo Structura is also applied two or three times a month. The results will gradually become apparent. Already after the first Structura treatment, you will notice a subtle polarisation of the features. However, the full results are only visible and assessable a few weeks after the end of the treatment series. In some cases, it is advisable to undergo Structura three times. In this case, the first and second treatments are given one month apart, followed by a three-month break before the third treatment.
Profhilo Structura prevents and corrects changes in both the skin and subcutaneous fat deposits. It firms and gently lifts the middle and lower body fat. Although the treatment is made with hyaluronic acid gel, it is not a filler treatment. There is no change in the shape or size of the features, and therefore the results of the treatment are very natural, yet visible.
Course of treatment
Consultation
Before Profhilo or Profhilo Structura treatment, you are welcome to a free consultation (Helsinki, Vantaa). During the consultation, a healthcare professional will explain the treatment to you and discuss the benefits, contraindications and risks of the treatment. At the same time, we can work out a treatment plan together; it is typical to treat age-related changes on the upper face with botulinum and other parts of the face with Profhilo.
The consultation does not oblige you to take any action, but on the other hand, treatment can be given at the end of the consultation, at the same appointment.
Anaesthesia
About half an hour before the procedure, a numbing cream can be applied to the skin if necessary. Once the skin is numb, the substance is injected on the middle and lower face. If you are nervous or afraid of the pain associated with the injection, you should take paracetamol about an hour before the procedure.
If you want a numbing cream, you can do one of two things:
- If you would like us to distribute your numbing cream, please let us know when you book your appointment. This will enable us to book a time for the anaesthetic as well. The numbing cream is applied to the area to be treated 30-60 minutes before your appointment.
- You can buy Emla numbing cream from the pharmacy and apply it to the area to be treated (usually the middle and lower face) 30-45 minutes before your appointment.
Profhilo is injected into the skin
The treatment protocol consists of ten injections, i.e. the product is delivered to the tissue by making five injections on each side of the face. The product is injected into the skin using a special BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique. Thanks to the BAP technique, the hyaluronic acid is immediately diffused throughout the skin of the mid and lower face after the treatment.

Structura treatment is done with a cannula
Profhilo Structura has two different treatment protocols: one for thin skin (hollow features), the other for thick skin (sagging, heavy features). Structura treatments are always performed with a long, blunt cannula. With a sharp needle, only a couple of openings are made in the skin, allowing the long, blunt cannula to work its magic under the skin. So there are even fewer needle pricks than with the traditional Profhilo treatment.
Although the products are not injected directly into the eye area, the skin firming effects are also visible in the eye area.
After the treatment
Immediately after the treatment, a small bump resembling an insect bite will form at each injection site.
- The swelling will disappear on its own within 24 hours of treatment.
- Avoid adding skincare products or make-up to the treatment area for the first six hours.
After the treatment, you will receive written aftercare instructions from our professional and instructions on how to book your next appointment. Usually the second treatment is scheduled 28-30 days after the first treatment.
The improvement in the condition and appearance of the skin starts to show in the weeks after the first treatment, but the final result is only visible after the second procedure.

Profhilo is an anti-ageing and anti-aging hybrid product containing hyaluronic acid in two different molecular sizes.
The product is intended for tissue firming and skin improvement in the following areas:

Unlike fillers, Profhilo hyaluronic acid is not cross-linked. Therefore, it does not contain the BDDE compound used as an excipient in fillers.
Profhilo does not change the shape of the face. It is intended to improve the quality and appearance of the skin.

Skin boosters are lightly stabilised hyaluronic acid gels with BDDE as the stabilising agent. Profhilo is not stabilised, so it is more fluid than Juvéderm Volite. Thanks to its fluidity, Profhilo is spread over a wider area than the skin boosters themselves.
Skin boosters are injected into the skin using dozens of micro-injections. Only five Profhilo injections are made on each side of the face, making a total of 10 injection sites.

The skin recovers quickly from Profhilo treatment. Redness and minor swelling will usually disappear within hours of treatment, but no later than the day after treatment.

The treatment is carried out twice a month. If there is a lot of age-related changes in the skin or adipose tissue, a series of three treatments may be required. In this case, the second treatment is given one month after the first treatment and the third treatment only two months after the second treatment.
Once the treatment result is achieved, it is maintained with one Profhilo treatment every 6-8 months.
The age of the client and the condition of the skin will determine how many treatments are needed and the type of maintenance treatment.
The first results are already visible after the first treatment.
However, significant firming and improvement in skin elasticity is only visible at the end of the treatment series, 2-3 weeks after the second treatment.
