Microbotox - FAQ
What is microbotox?
Micro- or mesobotox is a light botulinum treatment that smoothes out fine lines and small scars on the skin's surface, reduces excessive sweating and redness and reduces enlarged pores. The procedure is performed with a very dilute botulinum solution, which is injected or absorbed in small doses into the dermis.
Ebeling's microbotox is performed with the needle-injection technique, Aquagold treatment or Skinpen microneedle. The technique is individually selected according to the client's needs and the area of skin to be treated.
What is the difference between botulinum treatment and microbotox treatment?
Traditional botulinum toxin treatment relaxes the muscles. Microbotulin treatment does not target the muscles but the dermis of the skin. Microbotulin treatment does not reduce muscle activity. The results of the treatment are also not as visible as those of classical botulinum treatment.
What is the difference between baby botox and microbotox?
Both microbotox and baby botox are off-label botulinum treatments, which are made with a more dilute solution of botulinum toxin than normal.
Baby botox targets the muscles and is a preventive aesthetic botulinum treatment that reduces muscle activity in areas such as the forehead. Baby Botox treatments are given to 25-30 year olds who want to prevent - rather than correct - ageing changes.
Microbotox does not reduce muscle activity, but targets the skin. The procedure prevents and corrects a wide range of skin problems, not all of which are related to ageing. The botulinum solution used Microbotox is still significantly more dilute than the botulinum used in Baby Botox.
What are the benefits of microbotox?
Microbotulin targets the skin and the sebaceous and sweat glands in the skin. The treatment tightens and smoothes the skin's surface, reduces sebum secretion and perspiration, and smoothes small scars and fine wrinkles, for example under the eyes.
How long is the treatment?
The duration of treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated and the treatment technique. You should allow between half an hour and an hour.
What about the duration of the results?
The result of the treatment lasts well for two to three months. Regular re-treatments may prolong the duration of treatment results.
Does microbotox hurt?
Everyone experiences pain differently. In general, microbotox treatment is almost painless when done with Aquagold or Skinpen. The needle-injection multi-injection treatment can feel a little uncomfortable, especially on the under-eye area and other thin areas of the skin.
A nozzle cream folds the sharpest point away from the pain. If you prefer, you can buy Emla anaesthetic cream from the pharmacy and apply it to your skin 30-60 minutes before your microbotox treatment. If you would like us to give you an anaesthetic, please let us know when you book your appointment so we can make an appointment that is long enough for you.
The price of microbotox?
The treatment is priced exactly the same as the classic aesthetic botulinum treatment. The treatment areas are the same, as are the prices. You can find the prices further down this page.
